Why Dental Implants?
The closest to natural teeth
Why would you consider dental implants? Because implants are the next best thing to the real thing. They are the closest that we can get to your natural teeth. Better than veneers, better than dentures, bridges and crowns.
What are the benefits of implants?
- Feel natural—you’ll look like yourself
- Improved confidence—no worries about slipping or sliding dentures
- Confidence—you can relax during conversation and eating
- Balanced diet – no need to give up certain foods.
- Look like natural teeth
- Increased preservation of bone
- Decreased gum tissue shrinkage
- Less food trapped under dentures
Are there other benefits?
If you are missing teeth or have poor-fitting dentures, bacteria can grow where the teeth used to be or where there is extra space from a poor fit. Bacteria can lead to gum disease, putting you at risk for a host of health problems, some of which can be serious, or even fatal:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Respiratory problems
- Reduced insulin effect for diabetics
- Loss of additional teeth
The Hidden Danger
If you are missing any of your teeth, you can be at risk for a ‘bad bite’, which can cause more headaches, literally, than you would believe. Missing teeth throw your bite off, causing your jaws and neck to go into overdrive, straining muscles. This all leads to headaches, sore jaws and aching necks and backs. Your entire body can be affected.
By having implants placed in your mouth, you can reduce or eliminate pain.
What are implants?
Made from titanium screws, implants are artificial teeth roots that are placed in the upper or lower jaw to support restoration of one tooth or several teeth. They are the ideal solution for missing teeth because they are fixed in place and don’t move. Once they are set in the jaw, permanent teeth can be attached to them and unlike traditional dentures, they function closely to natural teeth.
